Pakistan’s own largest Mathematics Olympiad was organized under the sponsorship of Pak-Turk Maarif International on Sunday, 27th November 2022 at 10:00 am. Set in 35 various cities divided in 8 regions of Pakistan, this nation-wide olympiad took place in 65 exam Centres simultaneously. Extending its territorial and academic scope, the year 2022 witnessed the addition of 1 more grade (i.e., Grade 4) in the list of competitors. Whereas MISMO welcomed its debut in Sialkot, Toba Tek Singh, Sakardu, and Gilgit Baltistan with great delight. To be exact, 17109 candidates participated in MISMO 2022 for first ten positions in their respective regions and respective grades.

Commenting on the matchless traditions set by Pak-Turk Maarif in hospitality, quality and consideration for all parties concerned, a parent, Mr. Umair Ijaz said, “We realize the importance and understanding of the mathematics in software engineering and this exam is training our kids for future endeavors. I congratulate MISMO management for such a marvelous event.”

Another parent, Mr. Mohsin expressed his views by saying, “MISMO is a great opportunity for the students to gain international experience of examination and evaluation. Future is about economy and knowledge and one can only excel in these by mathematical knowledge and practice.”

On the other hands, participants are excited no less. Their glowing faces were the testimony of the exhilarating experience that they had come across during the Olympiad. A Grade 6 student from Beaconhouse School System, Salman expressed his joy, and said, “MISMO is well organized. I am excited to participate in this mega event and secure top position in Pakistan.”

Whereas another student, Arwa Mohsin from Maktab expressed her high hopes for the final results. She said, “I have been preparing for this exam for many days. I am speechless to see such a massive gathering in this national level competition. Such events must be organized for other subjects as well.”

The Question Booklets and their answers are already uploaded on MISMO Digital Portal for all to see and check. Whereas the final result is going to be declared online on last week of December 2022. Following that, top three high scorers will be highlighted on National Level for each academic category, who will be awarded with PKR 75000/-, 50000/- and 25000/- respectively. Whereas the Top Scorer from Grade 8 will be entitled as ‘The Al-Khwarizimi of Pakistan’. On the other hand, region-wise top-ten positions will also be declared from the remaining candidates who will be awarded with PKR 15000/-, 10000/-, and 7000/- for the top-three positions, whereas 4th-10th positions will be rewarded with PKR 5000/- each. The Time, Date and venue of these ceremonies will be announced later on.
